Arkansas Shades, Blinds & Shutters has been a fixture in North Little Rock since 1996. Three decades of measuring, fabricating, installing — and showing up when we said we would.
We opened in 1996 with a small showroom in North Little Rock and a simple idea: be the window coverings company that doesn't make the contractor's life harder. No missed delivery dates that hold up a punch list. No surprise upcharges. No fabric that arrives in the wrong color two days before turnover.
The early jobs were apartments and small offices. Then came multi-family developments, hotels, medical buildings, schools — and a long list of homeowners who were referred to us by a designer or a neighbor and never went anywhere else.
The single most common piece of feedback we get from general contractors is that we measure when we said we'd measure, deliver when we said we'd deliver, and install when we said we'd install. In a trade with a reputation for the opposite, that turns out to matter quite a bit.
Three decades of relationships with the manufacturers means we know lead times in real time. We won't quote a fabric we can't actually get on the timeline you need.
Our installers measure the openings. Not a salesperson with a clicker — the person who's going to install the product. That's why we don't have a lot of remakes.
Three groups, each with different needs and different expectations:
The newest addition to our work is outdoor patio shades — exterior solar screens and retractable systems that turn an unusable summer porch into outdoor living space. It's a growing piece of our residential business and we're investing in it.
Beyond that, we expect to do in the next ten years what we've done for the last thirty: show up, measure carefully, and install windows that look like they belong.
